Can AI Keep Packaging Text Stable Through an Entire Ad?

I designed a fictional oat carton in Seedream, selected one keyframe, animated it for eight seconds, and checked the label and package geometry letter by letter.

I used seedream to test a problem that is easy to miss in a still image: packaging can look convincing at first glance while its text changes during motion. I created a fictional carton with only two readable strings-"NOVA OAT" and "ORIGINAL"-then animated one selected keyframe for eight seconds. Fewer words made every letter auditable.

First, I Designed a Keyframe That Could Be Audited

The carton uses straight vertical edges, a large front label, a simple cap, and high contrast between cobalt blue and warm cream. I excluded nutrition text, certification marks, and small decorative copy because they would create dozens of unnecessary failure points. The glass beside the carton provides a stable secondary object for judging camera motion.

Exact Seedream Keyframe Prompt

Generate a photorealistic 9:16 advertising keyframe of one fictional oat drink carton standing on a pale stone breakfast table. The front label must read exactly 'NOVA OAT' in large clean uppercase letters and 'ORIGINAL' in smaller uppercase letters beneath it. Use a cobalt-blue and warm-cream geometric package design with no other readable text, no nutrition claims, no certification marks, no real logos, and no resemblance to an existing brand. Then I Restricted the Motion

A fast orbit would test too many variables at once. I asked for a locked opening, a slow 10-degree arc, and a settled front view. The glass had to remain still, and the prompt prohibited new text, new logos, packaging changes, and people. This made label stability the primary evaluation target.

Exact Motion Prompt

Use the third generated NOVA OAT keyframe as the sole visual reference and create a new 8-second 9:16 video. Keep the carton geometry and the exact readable front text 'NOVA OAT' and 'ORIGINAL' stable throughout. Begin on a locked full-carton composition for 2 seconds, make a slow 10-degree camera arc for 4 seconds while the glass remains still, then settle into a clean front view for 2 seconds. The label remains readable in all three sampled frames, and the front geometry returns cleanly after the arc. Because the camera movement is subtle, this is not a stress test for a full spin. It is a useful test for the kind of gentle product motion commonly used behind a headline or on a vertical product page.

Why Four Keyframes Were More Useful Than One

The four Seedream options were not interchangeable. The first had a narrow carton and a label with less breathing room. The second introduced a plant mark that could be mistaken for another piece of brand language. The third placed both required text lines centrally and kept the cap, carton, and glass separated. The fourth was clean but used a different geometric balance. I selected the third because its front face created the simplest reading test.

This selection step is where packaging text stability begins. If a source image already contains crowded copy, marginal letters, or ambiguous marks, animation inherits those weaknesses. I prefer to spend the still-image stage simplifying the visual contract, then ask motion to preserve it.

A Second Pass I Would Run for a Real Package

For production packaging, I would create front, three-quarter, side, and back references and list every approved string in a separate text sheet. I would then test a slightly larger turn and stop at each orientation to compare letters, cap placement, seams, and panel proportions. This article's fictional package design deliberately proves only the front-facing use case.

I would also export lossless stills at each stop, because a moving preview can hide a one-frame letter change.

Packaging text stability improved when I reduced the text inventory and constrained the camera.
